Matt Lemas

Matt graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California, where he earned dual degrees in Journalism and Political Science, as well as a minor in Spanish. He served as the editor-in-chief of USC’s award-winning school newspaper, The Daily Trojan, and during his tenure he was nominated for the national 2017 Reporter of the Year Award from the Associated Collegiate Press. An Orange County native and graduate of JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, Matt scored in the 99th percentile on his ACT his junior year with perfect scores in English and Reading. Previously, Matt worked as a top tier SAT/ACT tutor at a test prep company in South Orange County, where he taught private and group classes. Combining a deep patience with his mastery of the English language, Matt excels at simplifying nit-picky grammar rules and teaching students powerful reading strategies to boost their test scores. In addition to test prep, he has a keen skill for helping writers discover their voice, working with countless AR students on perfecting their college admissions essays.
