Dr. Kristina Benson

AP History (World and Euro.) / AP Language / AP Literature Specialist

Kristina Benson received her PhD from UCLA in 2015. She has been a Visiting Lecturer at the International and Intercultural Studies department at Pitzer College, and a Teaching Associate at UCLA’s Communication Studies and Near Eastern Languages and Culture Departments. Dr. Benson has published academic papers in esteemed scholarly journals such as the Buffalo Journal of Human Rights Law Review, the UCLA Journal of Islamic and Near Eastern Law, and the Oxford Encyclopedia of Women and Islam.

In her sessions with AR students, she works on proven essay writing methods, multiple choice test taking tips, critical thinking skills, and effective test taking strategies that help students grapple with the large amounts of information they must master to perform well in their classes, write excellent essays, and receive high scores on standardized tests.
