Jacob earned his B.S. in Applied and Computational Mathematics from UC Irvine, while also having competed as a Division I student-athlete in Cross Country and Track & Field. He also served as Student Senator for the School of Physical Sciences, advocating for students and holding office hours to hear their concerns, as well as a Student Leader for the Merage School of Business' Future Leaders Initiative. During his undergrad, he enjoyed tutoring his peers and mentoring the younger student-athletes in upholding strong study habits, work-life balance, along with athletics.
He loves tutoring since he sees it as so great to see students make meaningful connections between math concepts and their real-world applications. He believes mathematics is a very approachable subject that anyone can learn, so he works to meet students where they are and build on this base of knowledge. While memorization has its moments, developing one's deeper conceptual understanding and confidence with the material is what is most important to Jacob.
He hopes together they can aspire to become better future leaders of tomorrow, and perhaps even mathematicians!
As for his personal interests, he enjoys running long distances, spending time with his girlfriend, and baking too!
