Jesse P.

English/Reading

Jesse graduated summa cum laude from UCLA in 2017, majoring in English Literature with a focus on the development of the English language in the Early Middle Ages. After college, he worked as a tutor, trainer, and curriculum designer for C2 Education, where his students saw the highest average score increases in the company’s Pacific region. He then worked in Hollywood as the lead editor series reviewer on a portfolio of shows including Family Guy, The Simpsons, and Archer.

As a perennial student with an insatiable curiosity, Jesse has worn many hats in many fields, but his calling has always been education. With six years of experience under his belt, he has worked with hundreds of students from all grade levels and walks of life, and his students have found success everywhere from the Ivy leagues to the Pentagon.

Specializing in standardized testing, college and graduate applications, academic research, literature, and history, Jesse brings a near boundless enthusiasm to his lessons matched only by his repertoire of horrible dad jokes as he strives to create engaging lessons that encourage his students to rise to their potential while thinking critically about themselves and the world around them.

When Jesse isn’t working with students, he’s probably engaging in one of his many hobbies, which range from performing classic country songs to studying old, dead languages like Latin and Old English and occasionally dressing up in full suits of medieval armor and dueling other unrepentant period nerds.
